THE CLIENT

OTP Bank Romania is a subsidiary of OTP Bank, the largest independent bank in Central and Eastern Europe. OTP Bank provides universal financial services in Hungary, Romania, Montenegro, Croatia, Bulgaria, Russia, Ukraine, Slovakia, and Serbia. OTP Group serves its almost 12 million customers in 9 countries, through more than 1,500 territorial branches, its ATMs network and via electronic channels. OTP Bank has been present on the Romanian banking market since 2005 and has ever since set the goal of becoming a strong universal bank, providing complete services to its customers, natural and legal entities alike.

CHALLENGES MAIN SYSTEMS DESCRIPTION
   

  • Upgrade the “core banking” RAC database to 10gR2 and
    periodically apply the latest patch sets;

  • Migrate the database from
    Linux 32 bit to Linux 64 bit;

  • Configure the Oracle Application Servers to be balanced
    by Oracle Web Cache;

  • Create the disaster recovery site and periodically perform
    switchover/ failover tests.

The core banking application “Absolut” is provided by Probas, a Romanian company. The application is a Forms and Reports based application running on Oracle Application Server 10g and Oracle Database 10gR2 infrastructure.
