The size of the database is 1TB;

• Oracle 10g Application server Forms and Reports, 4 Windows 2003 Servers with a hardware load balancer as the application entry point.

Cards Database: Oracle 9i Database running on Active- Passive Unix cluster, 8 CPU’s 32GB RAM each.

The size of the database 50GB.

Internet Banking environment: Flexcube@application provided by Oracle Financial Services Software Limited:

• Oracle Database 10gR2 on Active-Passive Windows cluster and Oracle Fail Safe, 4CPU’s, 8GB RAM each. The size of database is 250 GB.

• Oracle Application Server 10gR2: 4 Windows nodes cluster, 2 in Intranet running OC4J containers and 2 in DMZ zone running Webcache and HTTP component.

Eurobank EFG Serbia:

Core banking environment: Flexcube application provided by Oracle Financial Services Software Limited.

• Oracle 10gR1 RAC database running of the same 3 Unix Nodes cluster as Polbank. The size of the database is 2TB;

• Oracle 10g Application server Forms and Reports, 6 Windows 2003 Servers with a hardware load balancer as the application entry point.

Cards Database: Oracle 9i Database running on same Active-Passive Unix cluster as Polbank.

The size of the database is 50GB.

Internet Banking environment: Felxcube@application provided by Oracle Financial Services Software Limited:

• Oracle Database 10gR2 on Active-Passive Windows cluster and Oracle Fail Safe, 4CPU’s, 8GB RAM each. The size of the database is 100 GB.

Core banking environment: Flexcube application provided by Oracle Financial Services Software Limited.

• Oracle 10gR2 RAC database running of 2 Linux Nodes, 8 CPU’s, 32 GB RAM each. The size of the database is 500GB;

• Oracle 10g Application server Forms and Reports, 3 Windows 2003 Servers with a hardware load balancer as the application entry point.

Cards Database: Oracle 9i Database running on same Active-Passive Unix cluster as Polbank. The size of the database is 20GB.

Internet banking environment: Flexcube@ application provided by Oracle Financial Services Software Limited:

• Oracle Database 10gR2 Single Instance on Linux, 4CPU’s, 8 GB RAM. The size of the database is 20 GB.

• Oracle Application Server 10gR2: 2 Windows nodes, 1 in Intranet running OC4J containers and 1 in DMZ zone running Web cache and HTTP component.

Challenges

• Fully administer a very complex Oracle environment for a period of three months. The starting point of the project was the resignation of the entire DBA team composed of 5 persons. The administration effort was divided in onsite administration for online and pre EOD period and remote administration for End of Day cycle;

• Create and implement the daily task maintenance procedures that the DBA team has to follow;

• Perform the knowledge transfer to the new Customer DBA team;

• Continue daily administration assistance and lead of Customer DBA team for more than 18 months;

• Perform installation of Eurobank Ukraine Oracle systems and participate to the
  implementation phase of the new core banking system;

• Perform upgrades of core baking Oracle systems;

• Perform fine-tuning of main core baking databases used by Flexcube and Flexcube@ applications. Main focus was reducing End of Day duration process and reducing the CPU and IO consumption during Online;

• Install and configure Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control as a main management and notification system that monitors all Oracle based servers;

• Participate to a very complex project of creating the Disaster Recovery datacenter which is located in Athens at a distance of more than 1200 km from the main Datacenter in Bucharest. The solution is based on Storage to Storage replication + virtualization of Windows based systems with VMware ESX.

• Participate to a Datacenter relocation Project. The main targets for this were minimum downtime for the 24/7 banking Channels (Internet Banking, Cards, and Phone Banking) and reduced costs with new hardware that has to be purchased.
